215 - New York Dolls - (eponymous)

New York Dolls come across as half Rolling Stones at their wildest and what the average person would consider straight-ahead punk...all done in drag. There is no doubt that the band was living and creating songs with wreckless abandon; enjoying the fun of sex, drugs, and rock and roll to its fullest extent. The music captured on New York Dolls has a violent, sloppy vitality to it that makes the music more than a drunken Rolling Stones/Chuck Berry cover band.
Songs I Knew I Liked: "Personality Crisis," "Looking For a Kiss," and "Jet Boy"
Songs I Now Like: "Trash" and "Pills"
Songs I Can Go the Rest of My Life Never Hearing Again: "Frankenstein" really started to grate on me after repeat listens.
