This self-titled album (also known as "The Rocking Chair Album") was a huge album for British bands such as The Rolling Stones. Howlin' Wolf had a voice that could go from calm and rational to sounding like Oscar the Grouch's monstorous big brother. As he sings the chorus in "You'll Be Mine" I started to wonder if he was embodying an evil villain proclaiming he's going to get the girl. His gruffness in "Who's Been Talkin'" made me think he was ready to beat the hell out of who the hell had been talkin'!

What probably stands out to me most when listening to this album was how real it felt. I frequently could imagine myself in some dusty bar in a rural community in the South recording what I heard.

Another item worth noting is that all of the songs in this collection were written by blues great Willie Dixon.
