372 - Jackson Browne - Late for the Sky
Aug. 26th, 2011 02:11 pmJackson Browne continues to charm me with his vocals. Despite my lack of lyrical interest, the emotions expressed are inescapable. Late for the Sky is more of a downer than The Pretender, but I found the songs more consistently enjoyable than the two other albums I've already heard. While many of the songs are very contemplative, they don't get boring or mopey.
The man has a talent for writing lyrics that not only mean something but sound good when sung.
Songs I knew I liked: None
Songs I didn't know but now like: "Late for the Sky," "Fountain of Sorrow," "Farther On," "The Road and the Sky," and "Before the Deluge"
Songs I can go the rest of my life without hearing again: I wouldn't miss any songs not listed above, but I wouldn't avoid them either.
