THREE RECORD ALBUM RELEASE! Phew! This was a fatiguing listen to me. The album is all. over. the. place. You've got old time gospel, Motown, reggae, some rap, and it is all delivered with The Clash's stutter-step punk sound. Sandinista! does succeed in the band creating a whole variety of songs and yet each song still sounds like The Clash.

Unfortunately, with all of those songs, there are plenty there that folks like myself wished were on some sort of B-sides or box set edition and not taking up space in a "studio release."

Songs I knew I liked: "The Magnificent Seven"

Songs I didn't know but now like: "Ivan Meets G.I. Joe," "Up in Heaven (Not Only Here)," and "Charlie Don't Surf"

Songs I can go the rest of my life without hearing again: "Hitsville, U.K.," "Junco Partner," "The Sound of Sinners," "Lose This Skin," "Version City," and "Career Opportunities" were particularly not liked by me.
