Covers Vs Originals
Jul. 21st, 2010 03:03 pmWhile the majority of the time I prefer the original version of a song to another artist/band doing a cover, there are the times where I like a cover more. The latter is pretty much a given for any Bob Dylan song; I love other people singing Dylan but tend to claw at my ears when I hear him.

auronsgirl the wrong way by my bringing this up again, I must mention the following. Even my favorite band on the planet, XTC, has a song that I think is "meh" but have heard a cover that I think is superb. I've wanted to illustrate this before, but I just couldn't find a copy of Ruben Blades covering "The Man Who Sailed Around His Soul" online to post here. Thankfully, I discovered mere moments ago that someone has uploaded that song to YouTube. So, for your listening pleasure...two versions of "The Man Who Sailed Around His Soul."
