The boys were particularly sour and obstinate last night. Those buggers were determined to stay up and do everything they could to be active instead of shutting down.
This morning when I asked them about he particularly bad attitude last night and what could be done differently, Calvin revealed to me a little of their relationship. He said that the next to last time I came in the room (when my foot finally came down), he and Nigel discussed what they were going to do. Calvin said that he wanted to go to sleep, so he voted for them to apologize and go to sleep. He then said that Nigel didn't want to go to sleep and "voted for revenge." Somehow, this 1-1 tie wasn't a stalemate situation. For whatever reason, Calvin said, "Since Nigel voted for revenge, we had to fight you when you came in the next time." Was Calvin really all for going to sleep? Did Nigel have to persuade Calvin at all to act up instead of going to sleep? Questions like these make me want to plant bugs in their room.
