Try not to think of 6+ Red Milk Jugs
Aug. 15th, 2008 01:04 pmCalvin joined me on my 60-ish day errand of donating blood at the Red Cross. While they wouldn't let him sit next to me, they put me in a chair near the waiting area and pulled a seat for him right next to the door. I gave him some play-by-play and the nurses and I shared in answering his questions. They let him come in for a closer look right after I was put on tap and after I had filled the bag. Calvin really got a kick out of their use of a scale which tips to tell them when enough blood had been collected. He also enjoyed some NutterButters and drinks with me afterward.
Today was pint #51 - Yes, I'm now over 6 gallons (fine...6 gallons, a quart, and a pint). I sent an email about getting a 6 gallon pin to put next to my 5 gallon pin on my Scouting briefcase and just heard back that the pin is in the mail. Squee!!!
