Seasons Switching Gears
Aug. 13th, 2008 09:07 amYesterday's weather was nearly perfect. If there was a bit more breeze, I could have left the windows open for more than an hour or so. It was nice and cool outside, but it felt muggier (more muggy?) in the house as opposed that that blissful post-rain chill that lingered for much of the afternoon.
With the temp so cool in the morning and a good layer of cloud cover, I spent quite a big part of the day with the kids outside in the yard. Harper wasn't in the mood to nap yesterday, so we enjoyed some quality time on the front porch swing. Even when the rain picked up from a slight dribble-drabble into a summer shower, the boys merely went into the house, donned their rainboots, and returned outside to splash in puddles and dance with umbrellas. It is fun to sit on the porch watching the boys play in the yard...and then to see drivers slow down and watch the boys as they pass the house. That happened a lot while the boys were splashing in the puddles. Lots of moms and grandmoms slowed down and grinned at the boys.
