Ready for the Fourth
Jul. 3rd, 2008 12:20 pmWhile I certainly don't have the festive arsenal that
valiskeogh has constructed for his Fourth of July Fireworks Apocalypse, Dad and I took the boys fireworks shopping yesterday and spent our usual $100. This year we have more mortars, fewer fountains, and fewer sparklers. Calvin and I are going to put together a VERY BASIC platform with holes for roman candles and we'll screw down the bases of the two mortar tubes. Mom insists that we shoot them off in their n'hood outside of the city limits. We plan on doing our fireworks at the pond in their n'hood hopefully soon enough that the boys aren't impossible to get to sleep. I think being at the base of the east side of the mountain will help darken twilight enough to fire off some sparks earlier than we could from my house last year.
