Tomorrow morning at 8am, JD's parents come get the kids and take them out for b'fast. Harper has a doctor's appointment at 8:30am and we're off for Atlanta afterward. I think that Andy/Barbara are pushing for a convoy situation, but it never works out well because I end up having to pull over suddenly or along the narrow 2lane roads we prefer to travel to cut over to Atlanta.
We have all the boys' clothes packed. I think Harper's stuff is packed. Most of JD's and mine are packed. Presents and food is wrapped and set to go, but not loaded in the car...because the fil wasn't ready to swap vehicles this afternoon like previously planned.
There are a ton of things that are still unfinished and will have to be done on Sunday between when we get home SOMETIME in the afternoon and when we crash for the night.
It looks like I might get home a little earlier on Christmas Day. The decision was made to open presents first thing in the morning rather than at dinner time. Hopefully this will allow our day to slacken in such a way that the boys slip off to sleep near their usual bedtime and I decide to shutdown immediately thereafter. I would love to avoid a manic evening of herding cats and pulling asses. Smoothly shifting the boys' gears down at the end of the day can pay off well.
Then comes the blessed Day After Christmas where I get to be 80% lazy (urgent tasks only).
