Granted, I've been on here for 5+ years, but there are a lot of names that I haven't the foggiest idea who they are. I guess random folks that passed by or maybe community folks that commented on my personal journal. I'm one evening of boredom away from looking up these folks and seeing if their journal interests me.

Everything went without a hitch at the Red Cross today. But I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a little concerned about getting a letter in the mail in the next week or so where I'm maligned for donating. As long as I don't test positive for HepB (and I have no idea why I would), I don't think the Red Cross would say anything if my records from Nashville are merged with this region's database. So I'm back on track to 10 gallons. Today was my 45th pint...35 more to go. I can donate every 56 days, so sometime around the end of 2012 is when I should hit the mark

Blood is at a critical shortage. They have a half-day's supply of blood for everything but A (which they have a day and a half).

I will be going back on June 29th...which is...on a Friday, so if anyone wants to join me that day, they are open for donations between 7:30am and 3:30pm. I am willing to be there as early as 9am and willing to join folks as late as close to when they close. I was in and out of there in about 45 minutes today with next to no wait.

A reminder post will be made during the week before I donate again.

Hell, don't wait for me; go ahead and donate today!

Oh, and I got a cool baseball cap and t-shirt along with the usual free snacks and beverages!

I can't recall who gave it to me, but someone passed along a teeny-tiny Lexar USB drive to me a few months ago.

Ah...

I know it's only 512MB, but that's enough for a few documents and a slate of music to keep me entertained for a few weeks. It has been serving the purpose of easily transferring files between my two laptops while working at the office (Linux on one and Winders on the other). Last Friday evening I must have been so exhausted that I didn't empty out my shirt pocket that was holding the drive. I searched my clothes the following day when I didn't see it with my office materials but couldn't find it.

Found it last night...at the bottom of my washing machine. Popped it into the USB and everything was fine. Kudos to Lexar for such a durable computer accessory!!!
