I'm Working...and Loving It
Apr. 17th, 2007 05:22 pmYesterday I checked out 8 or so office spaces, settled on one, and had the landlord email the lease to my boss.
Some of the neat things we're doing with this office is that we are going to have a bare-bones fax line from AT&T, w/ DSL piggybacked by HiWAAY, and we're going to use Skype/SkypeIn for all incoming calls and calls between coworkers (a whopping $38/year). The boss bought us company mobile phones yesterday since I'll be fielding customer service calls and texts.
Today we signed the lease for a two-person office in the 2nd floor wing of the old Huntsville Times Building in downtown. It was renovated a few years ago and the developer has done an outstanding job of keeping many original architectural elements.
Tomorrow I plan on going down and moving furniture into the office. The phone line will be set on Thursday and DSL either Thursday or Friday. More than likely, the office will be my 40 hr/week home starting next week.
