I've been putting this off for a month, but my computer was in bad need of dusting. The reason why I kept delaying the chore is because of my record of computer problems after cleaning. Sure, nothing should go wrong because most of the time it is just a matter of me pulling the tower out from under my desk and clearing away the dust. But because some piece of dust was keeping something working or dust that I cleared from one area fell onto something else; I often have to deal with freaky computer problems for days afterward.

*knocks on wood* That does not seem to be the case today! *knocks again for the hell of it*

I pulled out the computer and cleared all the vents. Then, daring fate, I popped open the case and cleared out a couple of dust bunnies. I replaced the 100 feet (just kidding) of cat-5 in back with 12 foot worth so I only have a couple of feet of extra to pull the tower out as opposed to a spool of 50 feet bundled behind the computer. Reorganized wires, moved a couple of periphery items around, and reassembled the tower and desk.

Are there USB extension cords? My RadioShark antenna connects via USB, but the cord is only a yard long. For best reception, I need to keep the thing as high on my desk as possible. I have a USB hub on my desk, but since it isn't 2.0, I moved everything but the RadioShark antenna off it and into the USB 2.0 jacks on the tower. I hate having the hub on my desk just to serve as an extension and really need to go the cord route.

Maybe the fil can bring one over after Calvin's playdate at their house today.
