I bought the CD a month or so ago after listening to clips of it every time I went to Barnes & Noble. My Kate history is primarily focused on her greatest hits collection. I've listened to all of her albums but never felt compelled to buy them after dubbing off the few non-singles that rang my bell. Maybe I was Jonesing for something new from her, but I decided to buy this CD despite my past impressions of her albums. To top it off, the thing is a 2 CD set.

I must confess, I think I've listened to the first CD twice. It's okay and is on par with what my previous impressions of her albums were.

HOWEVER, disc two (titled "A Sky of Honey") has been my second most listened to album since the purchase (I have my cassette copy of Tears for Fears - "The Hurting" in my car and hear that more often). This second disc is a suite about a full day. It starts in the day, goes into the evening, nocturne, and into the next day. The flow is superb, the diversity of sound is wide-open, and I love the lyrics! I also love the epic aspect of the disc as a whole and some tracks in particular.

My favorite track is "Sunset." It starts with Kate and a piano. The song slowly builds with some Kate overdubs, bass, Spanish guitar, and some jazzy rhythms. When the choir comes in (a lot of Kate overdubs but other voices too), I always have to close my eyes and sing along. I had this CD in my shower CD player (yes, I have to have a CD player in EVERY room) and repeated this track constantly while showering or taking a soak.

I'm going to have a couple of tracks from the "A Sky of Honey" disc of Aerial available for a limited time for you to sample.
