Possessed Puzzle
Jan. 19th, 2006 09:35 amNigel received a puzzle that makes sound effects for Christmas. Calvin has one that when you finish the puzzle (a train), then a train whistle sound plays. This one for Nigel is a group of 8 animals. Each one has a light sensor on the board, so, supposedly, when the piece of the puzzle is set in its place, the animal makes its sound. Now, I could post about how sad it is to hear a gerbil's eeking/squeaking noise...but this post is about how the puzzle is possessed.
Not a couple of days after Christmas, JD and I realized that this puzzle would be trouble. Nigel will pull pieces out and not put them back - I know, he's a year old and only does things half-assed *sigh*. Later, a light will be turned off or a cloud will block the sun and animal sounds will be heard. So I've been making an effort to ensure the pieces are back in the puzzle when I see Nigel playing with it. But having the pieces in their places doesn't satisfy the puzzle! It has begun to randomly make noises...whenever it wants! Since starting this post, the fish bubbling sound and the frogs ribbiting has come from this preschool tool for Satan. The pieces are snuggly in their place and the light exposure to the puzzle is minimal and constant.
I may be pulling the batteries out tonight if this keeps up.
