Entertainment Weekly this past week had a big listing of the hip, new bands coming out. KFOG has been nice, but I already know 90% of the artists they play in regular rotation. I did didn't try to download all the songs I could from nearly every band mentioned in EW (Bloc Party, Hot Hot Heat, Shooter Jennings, The Bravery). I have to say, I've heard a few songs by Bloc Party now and really like them. I'm reminded of British bands like the La's and early Sonic Youth (before they went 100% noise in the 90's). There are so many bands that I know well by name but I have never heard. Or the most common scenario - I only have one song down loaded (or seen on Subterranean) and I never hear anything else. Sorry, but those 30 second snips do nothing for me.

I wished that 107.7FM didn't stick to hard rock style alt-rock. I recently discovered Reg's Coffeehouse on Sunday mornings. Well, that will soon be moot when they switch frequencies to 100.5FM. I haven't been able to pick up anything on that frequency on a couple of my radios. I'm to the point that I want to get a good FM antenna like a Terk FM Pro. *smacks lips*
