Other than my previous post, the move has gone very well. This past week has been spent getting settled...as casually as possible. Despite not going into the station the last few weeks on the job, I certainly wasn't just slacking off. I feel a strong need to be productive and am trying to address that while balancing that with the desire to use this time as the much needed vacation that I earned after those 16-20 hour days and 6 day weeks for the past couple of years.

We have unloaded almost all of the boxes of things we had sent here to the house. I loaded the car yesterday with everything that needs to be transfered over to the storage units (there are also a few items on a list that need to be fetched from storage). By the end of the day today, we'll go to the storage units. I've assembled our "entertainment center" in the 2nd Den (a nice place to retreat to other than the bed or bathrooms) complete w/ Tivo, DVD, and VCR. Calvin has a set of toys in that room.

I've been checking up on jobs here in H'ville...but mostly online. I still need to look at the FCC public files for a few station and start doing lunches with contacts. Also need to slip by the universities' HR departments (A&M still has an announcer position open at their noncomm/jazz station...only a $7/hour pt job, but it would keep me occupied and I would most likely enjoy the job a good bit). Oh, just remembered that I need to brush up on my jazz knowledge over the next week, though I'm not anticipating high standards for this job.

I'm getting eager about getting downtown to do the drivers/license plate primarily because I'm eager to get a library card (I've always liked H'ville's libary downtown).
