I stood there in an aisle with my stack of CDs and DVDs and tabulating the total in my head. Two CDs (Skylarking and a Modest Mouse CD) were not on my list and I had all/most of the songs anyway. Modest Mouse quickly was eliminated, but I spent more than 5 minutes staring at the other CD intently. It wasn't easy to put it down, but the following made me put it back:
1. Own all the songs (several copies and versions even)
2. It's not like I'm going to buy it and sell it later for a big profit
3. I would have the pride of owning it and then place it with my other collectibles...to collect dust.
4. My guilt for going over budget would hang over my head and I'd kick myself for a while about the purchase.
5. After going bananas buying Transistor Blast and Coat of Many Cupboards, I swore to concentrate on songs/demos I don't already own (already had 2/3 of TB and half of CofMC before shelling out the dough for those box sets).
6. They've had that CD at the store for YEARS so the odds of me going back up there in the next couple of months to buy it post Xmas is still a viable option.

But, then again, part of me feels guilty for not buying it and sending it to you as a present. Have I ever mentioned how guilt is my personality's driving force?
