csberryWe are still in the thick of potty training Calvin. Something new added to the mix is his growing fascination with his penis. FYI - we do call it a penis...not a pee-pee/wee-wee, ding-dong, whoo-whoo dilly, or other silly words.
This newly found interest primarily manifests itself as prolonged periods of staring and touching it when it gets any fresh air. Coaxing him into pulling his underwear back up can be quite aggravating at times (especially if you are on the side of the road or otherwise in a hurry). And to top off the penis preoccupation...he's been getting erections too! I had to stifle my laughter when we were on the side of the road last week and he kept looking up at me w/ a huge smile while yelling "My penis is so big! Look how big it is, Daddy!" He's also complained a couple of times about his underwear hurting his penis when it is erect. Thankfully after a little adjustment, he can have his erection in comfort.
I've read about boys 3-5 y.o. deciding to masturbate whenever the desire strikes and I'm starting to pray that I get to avoid that or only deal with it a couple of times. It will be difficult to talk to him considering the anticipated laughter and tears of when it finally happens.
